Kooky Japanese media artist Toshio Iwai — creator of musical toy Electroplankton for the Nintendo DS — recently launched a full-blown electronic musical instrument in collaboration with Yamaha. The Tenori-on (which apparently translates as “sound on your palm”) looks like something people will be more inclined to fool around with than perform upon. Then again, it sounds gorgeous. Too bad owning one will run you roughly $1,200.00! Here’s hoping these things move into mass production.
